Genealogical Storytelling

Adventures of Discovery Through Genealogical Storytelling

We Package a Lifetime of Memories.
Doesn’t your family history deserve more than a scrapbook?

While legacy stories delve deep into history, their presentation shouldn’t be antiquated.

We infuse family histories with modern, multimedia flare where peering backward often offers perspective on moving forward.

We are also a renowned national source for document retrieval in Kansas City, New York City, and Washington, D.C.

Gina Boucher, lead family historian Peripheral View Media's legacy service.

Gina Boucher - Lead Historian & Researcher

As a young girl, Gina and her best friend constantly put their investigative minds into action to solve suburban neighborhood “mysteries”—emulating the lives of Nancy Drew and Harriet the Spy.

Today, Gina keeps her love of solving puzzles (and revealing the unknown) alive with the same curiosity as her early days of being the neighborhood sleuth—only now with a passion for helping people reconstruct the story of where they came from while bringing a cast of characters to life along the way. Gina’s two most cherished loves are family and research—a perfect combination for a genealogical storyteller.

Gina holds a certification in Genealogical Studies from Boston University. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the National Genealogical Society.

Jenée Arthur, founder and executive producer.

Jenée Arthur - Founder | Executive Producer

Jenée is the other half of the childhood best friend investigative team of ‘Gina and Jenée Mystery Solvers.’

Today, Jenée fortifies her love of storytelling by running a storytelling agency that produces narratives for professional clients while writing and speaking for a campaign she created to bridge the divide between the “us/them” narrative.

Jenée leads our adept team while holding the vision for each project. She combines her communication and storytelling skills and her love of people with Gina’s thorough research to create multimedia presentations and story ‘reveals’ that touch the hearts and minds of our clients.

  • “Besides how well they relate on a personal level (even over Zoom), Gina and Jenée are able to connect the dots and create a rich story for the family histories they tackle. I threw up my hands after hitting a brick wall just two generations back. Not only did they circumnavigate dead ends, they found things I would never have known to look for. I highly recommend Peripheral View Legacy.”

    —Gigi V. (Naples, FL)

  • “My partner and I own and live at Woodland City in Ivanhoe, a micro farm in the Kansas City urban core. When I asked Gina to find the history of our home and property, I had no idea that in the late 1800’s the original property owners grew fruits and vegetables on the land and transported them to local city markets and food establishments, just as we do! Gina was also able to provide the stories of the generations of families who lived in our much loved home before us. If you don’t know the history of your house, I recommend finding it. A house’s stories bring it to life and make it a home.”

    —Lisa H. (Kansas City, MO)

  • “PVM not only introduced me to cousins I didn’t even know I had, they made the whole experience memorable. They picked my wife and me up one morning and took us on roadtrip over an hour away to meet a cousin with whom Gina had arranged everything prior. We experienced a Catholic parish that my relatives helped build with their own money and hands, as well as got to see the rural property my great-great-grandfather owned. In my late 70’s, meeting a family member I didn’t even know existed was an emotional experience for me. The entire day was unforgettable. Gina has a real gift for this type of work and she puts a lot of heart into it.”

    —Gene A. (Independence, MO)

  • ”When we cleaned out our dad's home after his death, we gave Gina a trash bag full of photos and documents to sort and scan. Gina found letters that our dad had written to our mother 60 years ago when he served in the Army. Not only did Gina chronologically sort, organize and scan our family documents and photos, she translated each letter and compiled a book of memorabilia from that time period in honor of our parents.”

    —Mary M. (Kansas City, MO)

  • “The family history package we received from Peripheral View Legacy should be likened to a Nick Bantock novel; deep, alive, and vividly rich. I’m so happy I found them to produce our family’s legacy project.”

    —Luna B. (Austin, TX)
